Budget Automotive Equipment Inc. is a Canadian based company that was founded by Joe Dennison, a senior executive with a major North America automotive equipment manufacturer in 1999. It was a chance meeting with the owners of a major Chinese steel company that Joe recognized an opportunity. Lower cost automotive equipment for the North American market that meets the needs of the consumer and the quality, reliability and confidence of the automotive professional.

Armed with drawings, specifications and a former engineer with Joe’s old company they were off to China to make a new line of automotive lifts. Unlike most North American lift suppliers who purchase lifts off the Chinese shelves, Daytona lifts are manufactured using Canadian designs, standards, specifications as well as manufacturing methods and are built in a factory that is ISO9001 certified.

“We basically helped teach them how to make lifts” says Phil Carlton, the Daytona engineer who along with Joe’s foresight has had a significant impact into the North American lift business. The North American standard of quality, and reliability for a lift is recognized with certification by the Automotive Lift Institute and “it was a big day for us” says Joe Dennison, “when after considerable hard work and expense for a small company that we were granted ALI certification.” “It was also important and a credit to our partners in China” continued Joe, “ who worked with us to achieve this high level of quality in both manufacturing and design of our lifts.”   

Today, Daytona’s product line has been expanded to include a full line of automotive lifts as well as tire machines as can be seen in this Website. Not all Daytona lifts are imported, some are manufactured in the USA as well as in Canada.
